The Food Ministry is a joint operation of St. Philip’s and members of the now-closed St. Bridget’s Catholic Church (St. Bridget’s shared the sanctuary of St. Philip’s for their worship services).
The centerpiece of the ministry is the Hoosier Food Pantry, named for the late Deacon Clarence “Chip” Hoosier of St. Bridget’s. Supported solely by food and cash donations, the pantry is open on Wednesday evenings to provide an “open door” opportunity for the working poor to receive free food. This opportunity is available to any who come through our doors. Volunteers currently also make monthly food deliveries to more than 135 households.
The ministry also hosts a regular Community Meal, where anyone may come and join us for food and fellowship.
